When artists tour behind a recently-released album, there's kind of an unwritten rule that they'll perform at least a few tracks from it at every show. That's not holding true for Kendrick Lamar on his post-To Pimp A Butterfly summer dates, which is especially bewildering when you consider how well-received the album was.
This past weekend at Sweetlife Festival, and the weekend before that at Sasquatch!, the only TPAB track on Lamar's setlist was "Alright," with the rest being made up of good kid, m.A.A.d city cuts, as well as Section.80's "ADHD." This coming Sunday, he's headlining Hot 97's Summer Jam, so we'll have to see if the same holds true then.
Why do you think he's doing this? Would you be less likely to attend a Kendrick show if there was no possibility of hearing "King Kunta"? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
