R.Kelly is currently working on the follow up to 2013’s Black Panties album, which is apparently going through a few names changes in the process. Originally expected to be called "White Panties", R.Kelly’s upcoming new album is now being titled the Buffet.
In a new interview with HLN’s The Daily Share, Kellz gave some reasoning as for why the title The Buffet, and it’s because he needs to feed everybody in different generations. Kellz states:
“It’s all you can hear. I’m 27 years deep in the business, I’ve been blessed to do this music for so long and I’ve got a lot of great songs under my belt, and fans love it. But, I’ve got all different kinds of generations of fans now, and I have to feed everybody. You’ve got Hip-Hop, you’ve got old school music with the Step In The Name of Love type, then you’ve got traditional R. Kelly, sensuous sexual kind of music. It’s just a variety of things, so I call it the Buffet.”
No word yet as for when we can expect to hear Kellz' 14th studio album, but rumors are circulating late this Summer. We’ll keep you posted once more info surfaces.
