Instagram has officially introduced their new feature "Instagram Stories" which, as you've probably guessed, is a direct copycat of Snapchat's popular sharing tool.
If you're not familiar with how these stories work, the new feature will allow users to share multiple photos and videos during the day, all of which will appear in your Instagram Story.
Instagram Stories will vanish after 24 hours and will feature the ability to alter images and videos with text and drawing tools.
Here's where you can find your followers stories, according to Instagram:
"To view someone’s story, just tap on their profile photo. It’s easy to view stories at your own pace: tap to go back and forward or swipe to jump to another person’s story. If you want to comment on something you see, you can tap and send a private message to that person on Instagram Direct. Unlike regular posts, there are no likes or public comments."
Naturally, if you have a private account your Instagram Stories will only be available for those that follow you, and you can choose to hide stories from followers that you don't want to see what you're up to.
The new feature will reportedly be rolled out globally over the next week weeks on iOS and Android.
