While a misleading Instagram video led some to believe Bobby Shmurda was free, Riker's Island has confirmed the rapper is still in custody.

While rumors have been circulating of the rapper's release, Bobby Shmurda remains in prison. An Instagram video posted yesterday by New York singer Yung Relle depicted Bobby Shmurda announcing "I'm back!" into the camera, coupled with the caption "#MyBro Is Back #DontTellNobody". While some fans were quick to assume that Shmurda had made bail, it seems that Relle was simply pulling a shameless publicity stunt.

HipHopDX reached out to Riker's Island (where Bobby was previously being held) to investigate the claim, and found that the rapper is indeed still in custody.

Shmurda's bail is currently set at $2 Million, but so far no efforts have been made by EPIC to release the rapper. He is facing up to 25 years if he is convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and gun possession.
