Back in 2012, Interscope Records took a big gamble by signing a volatile rapper from Chicago, Chief Keef. After legal troubles and Keef's apparent desire to make less mainstream-friendly music, the label parted ways with him after just one album, the under-performing Finally Rich. Now, the label has opted to sign another young rapper from Keef's city, but she couldn't be more different than her predecessor.
With the news announced by Complex today, 20-year-old Dreezy has signed with Interscope. A sharp lyrical scalpel to Keef's blunt, elastic vocal presence, she should shake up the Chicago scene, as far as major label artists go.
