Jeremih opens up about the status of his oft-delayed project, "Late Nights: The Album".

The last few months have been a weird time to be a Jeremih fan. We've seen Chicago singer's Mustard-assisted jam "Don't Tell Em" rise up the charts, peaking at number 6 on the Hot 100, but seemingly nothing has come of the surprise success, with no release date in sight, as well as no video for the hit -- which is pretty much unheard of for a song with such momentum. On top of that, a strange incident at a Fuddruckers ended in Jeremih and his crew throwing beer bottles and causing $700 in damage just this month.

It goes without saying that fans are looking for answers, and in an interview with Billboard, Jeremih finally opened up about the delay of his upcoming album, Late Nights, as well as the lack of promotion of his nonetheless chart-topping single.

"I blame myself," said the reclusive singer of the failed video shoot for "Don't Tell Em". "I had a video scheduled. I just didn't show up to it because of..." he started, choosing not to finish his thought. "I'm not going to point my finger at somebody else at this point."

Jeremih then pointed to some personal troubles he was having with the mother of his child. "I stopped caring about being Jeremih over the last few months," he said. "A lot of people don't know I have a 2-year-old son. His mom wasn't allowing me to see him, and it was messing with me. I was internally unbalanced. But I just got out of that trial and I won."

While he takes full responsibility for the absence of new music being available, Jeremih also expressed some frustration with his label. "[Def Jam] is hesitating and not being on my side," he explained. "I see other artists and how they're supported. It's hard when I'm on a roster with Rihanna, Rick Ross and Kanye West."

With that being said, the singer promised that he would make a clear effort to put himself out there in a way he'd failed to in the past. "I want to show some skin now," he said. "Over the next few months, if you don't hear about me, something's wrong."
