As a result of all the violence and gun-related crimes in our country as well as abroad, Apple has officially announced that they're getting rid of the gun emoji in favor of a bright green squirt gun. Like that's really going to solve anything.
Now you'll just have to find an alternative way to illustrate how you're really feeling when you have a massive hangover, instead of using the classic cartoon revolver pointed at a yellow face with two X's in place of the eyes.
The change will reportedly take place as part of the September update when Apple ushers in a new wave of 100 emojis including a rainbow flag, female athletes, police officers and single parent families.
