Today marks the 17-year anniversary of legendary emcee Tupac Shakur's death. Pac passed on September 13th in 1996 at the age of 25 after a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas left him hospitalized.
We all know the story of his death, so we won't focus on that. Let's focus on his legacy.
The rapper is still remembered as one of the greatest to ever do it, and we don't expect that to change anytime soon. But his legacy doesn't only contain itself within the rap game-- 2Pac is one of the best-selling music artists in the world, with over 75 million album sales to his name. Another case-in-point: there are plans to make a Broadway musical themed around the life of Tupac, "Holler If Ya Hear Me." Musicals aside, the rapper has inspired a generation of artists in the game, and continues to do so beyond the grave.
Rest In Peace.
