"Banned" 1s are back.

The iconic "Banned" Air Jordan 1 is making a return this weekend, but this pair features a subtle difference compared to previous releases.

Instead of the traditional smooth leather construction throughout the Air Jordan 1 silhouette, the 2016 "Banned" AJ1 will feature hits of a textured, tumbled leather on the toe and swoosh.

Other than the material swap on the aforementioned pieces, the kicks remain true to form with a simple, clean red, black and white build. Although the lack of the Banned "X" on the heel is absent, we don't think that'll deter any potential buyers from scooping a pair next weekend.

As announced at the official unveiling of the Air Jordan 31, the remastered "Banned" 1s are scheduled to launch tomorrow, September 3rd- they'll carry a $160 price tag and, judging from Footaction's Release Locator, shouldn't be too difficult to get your hands on.

Some major retailers like Foot Locker will be implementing a raffle system for the release, which is as follows:

Tickets will be given out for the shoe you have selected on Monday, August 29th and Tuesday, August 30th. Limit one ticket per customer. You must have a valid photo ID to receive a ticket. If your ticket number is drawn you will be notified by phone on Wednesday, August 31st or Thursday, September 1st. If your ticket number is drawn you must be at the store on Saturday, September 3rd between store opening time and 6:00 p.m. local time to purchase the shoe. You must have the ticket and show a valid photo ID that matches the name on the list in order to purchase the shoe. Any shoe not purchased by the 6:00 p.m. deadline will be forfeited.
