This week as everyone is all-consumed by Kendrick Lamar's debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city, if you ever wanna step back from the hype surrounding it and put on something a little different I've got you covered. But good kid, m.A.A.d city is also a wise decision.
DEEzo- Deck Feat. Dizzy Wright
Many people probably only clicked this song for the Dizzy Wright feature, but the piano-laced beat is pretty dope and DEEzo does his thing. We haven't posted much by the rapper known as DEEzo and I don't even know much about him, but we'll have to see if his upcoming shit is just as good. An illy feature always helps.
King Chip- Ask A Baby
I'm always waiting on a new Chip Tha Ripper (my bad, King Chip..I just like his old name better) so when this dropped I was pleasently surprised. King Chip is so fresh you can ask a brand new baby about him, 'cause they'll know! This song is jokes and perfect Chip, especially with the Cardo beat. The hook is priceless.
Pac Div- Truth
We got a new Pac Div single over the weekend, so people mighta been sleeping on it, literally. Pac Div goes for a soulful-sampled beat on “Truth” as they spit the hard cold truth about women and more. This is for their upcoming album GMB.
Lloyd- Sexcapade Feat. Roscoe Dash
Man, Lloyd keeps surprising me. It's great to have a rapper mixed in with r'n'b ish like this, but I'm not really into Roscoe Dash, so it woulda been dope if some other rapper was featured, but I'll live with it. Lloyd and the beat are what make this track. The beat samples Aaliyah's Timbaland-produced song “4 Page Letter” and it works well. This was a leak off Lloyd's most likely all-sex-related mixtape Playboy Diaries Vol. 1 so be on the lookout for more smooth jams coming from him.
