Big name R&B albums keep looking to outpace hip hop albums on the Hip Hop and R&B charts. The projections are out on Miguel's Kaleidoscope Dream in it's first week which looks to greatly outsell DJ Drama's Quality Street Music.
In numbers from HDD (via HHNM), Miguel is set to move 55k-60k units in his debut week of his sophomore effort. This comes on the heels of the success of his single "Adorn". A vast improvement from his 2010 debut album which only managed 11k copies sold.
On the other hand, a hyped hip hop album, which was even pushed back a couple times, DJ Drama's compilation LP Quality Street Music, is projected to sell a meager 14k-17k copies in it's first week. The album was leaked early, but even taking that into consideration this has to be viewed as a disappointing showing.
