Although this week's UA isn't an extensive list, it's quality over quantity, and these three rappers bring that quality. Caskey shows us a preview of what he's capable of, Nino Bless gives us a song that's “not featuring 2 Chainz,” and Travi$ Scott brings us a track with a dark feel. Check em out below.
Caskey- Cash Money Records 100 Bars
Although Cash Money has signed a lot of artists recently that make me scratch my head, when I heard Caskey was the most recent signee to Birdman's label, I was surprised but not in a why-the-hell-was-he-signed-way. I only heard of Caskey back in May when he was dropping his No Complaints mixtape, but I was impressed by the few songs I heard. After signing with the YMCMB, Caskey dropped off this freestyle of sorts over a variety of recognizable Cash Money beats, and proved he was worth the sign. He has a unique voice and switches up his lyrics and flow with ease.
Nino Bless- Not Featuring 2 Chainz
This creative effort from Nino Bless caught many people off guard, who probably clicked on the song because they thought it WAS featuring 2 Chainz at first glance. However, as the hook states, Nino's song is NOT featuring 2 Chainz. In a world where 2 Chainz features come a dime a dozen, it's refreshing to hear an artist actually tackle the 2 Chainz-subject. Plus, the beat goes hard.
Travi$ Scott- Old English Feat. King Chip
Travi$ Scott, rumored to soon be a part of G.O.O.D. Music crew (and he appeared on Cruel Summer, so rumors may turn out to be true) is working on his project Owl Pharaoh, which he said was releasing after Cruel Summer, so we may expect it sometime in the near future. While we wait though, he's been releasing leaks off it, which have been sounding pretty solid. It'd been awhile since we got “Up” with Casey Veggies, so Travi$ decided to let go anothe featured-track over an ominous-sounding beat.
