During an open audition with over 600 hopefuls, Mindless Behavior was conceived in 2008 by Conjunction Entertainment Inc. CEO Walter Millsap (Beyonce, Alicia Keys, J.Lo) and Streamline Records head Vincent Herbert (Lady Gaga). Prodigy, Princeton, Roc Royal, and Ray Ray where clear standouts from the pack and solidified the group's lineup. For the next two years, they immersed themselves in developing their music, sound and style under Herbert and Millsap's guidance. Soon afterwards, IGA (Interscope Geffen A&M) chairman Jimmy Iovine signed Mindless Behavior to the label.
Now with their large and dedicated fan base known as "Team Mindless", nationwide tours under their belt, and a resulting Viewers Choice Award win at the 2012 BET Awards, the future looks bright for the young quartet. Their album, #1 Girl peaked at number 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 7 on the Billboard 200 late 2011, yet members Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray, and Princeton have stayed grounded and humble about their recent accomplishments.
Jacob Latimore will be turning 16-years-old in a few weeks, but the way he carries himself - we would have mistaken him for an adult. Latimore is the co-headliner for Mindless Behavior's #1 Girl Tour, alongside Lil Twist, and HNHH got the inside scoop with him all the way in Merrillville, IN.
Prior to his performance, we discussed what he learned about himself both musically and personally from this tour that he didn't from his previous ones (2011 Scream Tour -- Mindless Behavior, Life of a Jetsetter -- Diggy Simmons), his acting career and what gift he hopes to receive on his upcoming birthday. Latimore's story is one not to rest on - from performing on Maury's "Most Talented Kids" episode in 2006, to his acting career with Tyler Perry's House of Payne, One Tree Hill and Reed Between the Lines, and now co-headlining with Mindless Behavior.
