Wowwww I can't believe it's already July. A lot of good ish has been steadily dropping since summer started. G.O.O.D. Music has been releasing new singles, MMG, and all the other relevant crews I don't feel like listing. I wish it was summer year round.
Big Boi- Gossip Feat. UGK & Big K.R.I.T.
This is one of the singles off Big Boi's upcoming album Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors, and it seems to be shaping up nicely. Here he gives us a southern tune linking up with UGK and Big K.R.I.T. Big Boi sounds like he's on some classic shit!
Juicy J- Knock U Out Feat. Big K.R.I.T.
Out of all the ignorant rappers out there, Juicy J is one of my favorites. I can't really say why, he's just hilarious. This track was produced by Big K.R.I.T. so you (should) know the beat will be dope (it is), and if that wasn't enough, K.R.I.T.'s also featured on the hook. It ties it all together really well.
Asher Roth- Turnip The Beet
Still waiting on the CDQ of this song, but the radio premiere will do for now. Asher Roth is on his usual flow over a simple beat enouraging “boom bap, original rap.” I like it. Not really sure where this song will end up though.
Sheefy McFly- #1 Up
I'm feeling most Detroit rappers, Sheefy McFly is no exception. He released a project last week that didn't make it onto HNHH but we did post this cut off it. Dedicated to rolling one up, I think we can all relate.
CyHi The Pyrnce- Slick
People always throw around the word "underrated," and use it all wrong and shit, but CyHi is a rapper that I think is legit underrated. He's the oft-forgotten member of the G.O.O.D. Music crew. He actually has a unique voice, a nice flow and lyrics!! What's not to like. I still listen to the tape he dropped last summer, Royal Flush II. Ivy League Club is the title of his next tape, this served as the first single off it.
