As a follow-up to their 2016 release, African America, The Black Opera has returned to deliver on their latest full-length project 80z Babiez 2 The 2Gz II.
The duo, composed of emcees Jamall Bufford and Magestik Legend both represent Michigan--Ann Arbor and Detroit, respectively, and have taken their movement more global than most could have imagined.
Throughout their career together, the two have attracted accolades from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Tajai of Souls of Mischief, and even alternative medicine guru Deepak Chopra.
“We wanted to follow up African America with something that wasn’t as heavy,” The Black Opera says of their newest release. “So we worked on the second installment of our 80z Babiez 2 The 2Gz Experimix series. We feel right in the middle of this Old Heads vs New Wave battle. So in this new mix you can hear our influences come across, young and old, in a way of expressing it that we feel only we can do it.”
