New to the site, Gabriel Garzon-Montano is a buzzing new singer out of Brooklyn, New York whose claim to fame so far was allowing Drake to sample his “6 8” record into what we now know as “Jungle” off Drizzy’s IYRTITL. While Gabriel admits to not taking full advantage of his Drake co-sign back in 2015, it’s pretty reassuring to know the 6 God fucks with your music, and that alone should make you want to give his newly-released debut album, Jardin, a listen.
Laced with 10 featureless records, Gabriel sings of the struggles and uncertainties of living in America today, and the universal challenges of love. “I wanted to make music that would remind people how beautiful life is - how delicate their hearts are,” says Garzón-Montano. “A garden is full of life, and growth, and beauty. I named the album Jardín hoping for it to create a space for healing when people put it on. I've always wanted to make music that is healing, comforting, and funky.”
Out now on iTunes, stream the debut album now, and let us know what you think.
