Jordan Brand tends to focus on specific styles each year, and it’s looking like 2016 will be the year of the 12. In addition to the French Blue 12s, Michael Jordan’s sneaker brand has a colorway set to release this summer that pays tribute to his college squad, the University of North Carolina Tarheels.
While its officially called the Air Jordan 12 “Wolf Grey/University Blue,” it seems pretty clear where the inspiration came from. The upper uses a mix of leathers on the upper. The standard pebbled leather appears on the mudguard in white while the rest of the tonal upper uses a grey tumbled leather. Subtle university blue accents break up and otherwise fairly tame color scheme.
UNC Tarheels fan looking to ease their pain from losing to Villanova will have to wait a bit longer. The Air Jordan 12 Wolf Grey/University Blue drops June 25 and will retail for $190.
