It's that time, y'all -- 6pm and all eyes are pointed toward the 6, where Drake and OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib, aka October Firm, are situated, ready to give fans another live episode of their label's Beats 1 radio show. Drake has promised that Views from the 6 will drop some time this month, and tonight, listeners are expecting him to premiere something off of the long-anticipated album.
Along with October Firm, who will begin the show, tonight's special guest is Virgil Abloh, who DJs under the name Flat White. Abloh is the creator of the fashion brand Off-White as well as an esteemed member of Kanye's inner-circle. Look for a few exclusives to be sprinkled throughout his mix as well.
The last time October Firm hosted an episode of OVO Sound was at the end of January, when the duo made its on-air debut. They played a couple of non-Drake exclusives, but the highlight was the premiere of "Summer Sixteen," the lead single off Views. Earlier this week, Drake dropped two surprise tracks, "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla, and "Pop Style," featuring Kanye West and Jay Z, aka The Throne. Both tracks were single-quality, though it hasn't been confirmed whether or not either one will end up on the album.
Drake premiered September's What a Time to Be Alive, his joint album with Future, on an episode of OVO Sound, so it's possible he could do the same with Views. However, tonight might not be the night, as Pitchfork, the site that claims to be "the most trusted voice in music," recently reported that a reliable source had confirmed that the album will be released closer to the end of the month. Regardless, episode 19 of OVO Sound Radio should prove to be an exciting occasion. Tune in here, and make sure to check back for live updates and -- hopefully -- some new music from the 6 God.
