In one of the wackiest stories of 2015, the man who submitted the winning $2 million bid for Wu-Tang's one-of-a-kind album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin was none other than Martin Shkreli, the since-disgraced pharmaceutical executive best known for raising the price of Daraprim, a life-saving AIDs and cancer drug, from $13.50 a pill to $750 a pill. RZA has already weighed in with his thoughts on Shkreli. Today, Ghostface Killah offered a hot take of his own on ol' Shkreli. Spoiler: he's not a fan.
An an impromptu interview with TMZ, Ghostface called Shkreli a "shithead" and seemed disgusted the album ended up in his clammy hands. "I don't even know him," Ghostface said of Shkreli, "but when I heard what he did [with the AIDS medication], you don’t do that… That’s not right.”
Shkreli has said that he has to listen to the album and is waiting for a date with someone like Taylor Swift to bust it out. Ghostface believes the album belongs to the people and Shkreli should relinquish it. "What you gonna hold it for 88 years for?" said Ghostface.
Shkreli got wind of Ghostface's comments and responded on Twitter: "Ghost mad that Shaolin outsold his last 5 albums," he wrote. "Dude’s a non-profit rapper." Not bad, Shkreli, not bad.
