A few days ago we shared an update on Kanye West’s YEEZY Season 2 product, specifically that the clothing had been indefinitely delayed but the shoes would be coming out on June 6. As more information has become available, it’s clear there’s a lot more to the this story than we first thought. While there is YEEZY Season 2 footwear coming on June 6, it will not be affiliated with Adidas in any way.
During the production of the YEEZY Season 3 clothing for the huge show at Madison Square Garden, it was revealed that Kanye had produce the footwear independently of adidas. Based on the specific language of YEEZY president Pete Fox, the June 6 release will be the independently produced product, not new adidas Yeezy Boost sneakers.
However, there’s good news for Yeezy Boost fans. A few different social media accounts have posted pictures of new Yeezy Boost sneakers, including a photo A$AP Bari tweeted and then deleted. The photos confirm that there is a new model called the Yeezy Boost 550 coming out. The 550 has a higher cut to the ankle, a defined zebra pattern in the Primeknit fabric, and translucent sole. Separately, a photo of new Yeezy Boost 350s were uploaded by another Instagram user. Those are closer to the original, but feature a large stripe across the shoe and the lettering “SPLY-350.” Seems like fans of adidas Yeezy Boosts will eventually plenty of new sneakers, but they’ll have to wait just a bit longer.
