Before everyone’s smartphones were on the level personal computers, people would buy separate GPS devices to direct them. You could pay a small amount of money to change the voice on the device from the typical female robot to things like Yoda or Indiana Jones, and people ate that shit up. Fast forward to 2016, and the very useful GPS/traffic app Waze has tapped T-Pain as an exclusive voice.
Waze are good guys in this one though, not making its users pay extra for the T-Pain voice directions. Users simply go to the app’s settings and change the ‘Voice Language’ to T-Pain. The man does speak his own language, after all.
T-Pain has been making a bit of buzz lately, releasing multiple songs (all of which are bangers), so this comes at a perfect time for both he and Waze to ride the wave. T-Pain has been hinting at the release of his next album Stoicville: The Phoenix for what feels like years now, so hopefully this is a sign that he’s finally ready to drop an album.
Grab the Waze app on iOS, Android and Windows Mobile. T-Pain's voice will only be available for your driving pleasure for a limited time.
