The release of Pusha T's Darkest Before Dawn was especially dramatic as it arrived with an accompanying short film. Those who made it through to the final credits of the 22-minute video would've heard a brand new song that didn't appear on Darkest Before Dawn. That song features Pharrell, and audio of the nearly 2-minute snippet is now available. Listen below.
The title of the track has not yet been confirmed, though it's being shared online as "Switch It Up." The song sounds softer than most of Darkest Before Dawn, and it finds Push rapping reflectively and Pharell singing in falsetto.
The full title of Push's new album is, in fact, King Push -- Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, and it serves as a warm-up to King Push, which had long been expected to be his sophomore album. As of now, King Push is set for release some time in Spring 2016. It would be a sly move to include a sneak peek of King Push at the end of the Darkest Before Dawn concept film.
