While on the set of Birdman’s upcoming video for “Y.U. Mad,” Nicki Minaj revealed that Rick Ross’ recently released “I’m a Boss” was actually intended for Lil Wayne. Speaking with MTV News, the Harajuku Barbie spoke in the third person about the song’s trajectory and that it’s actually almost three years old.

"You know what's interesting about that song," she said. "Nicki had originally did that song for Wayne two and a half years ago. And then it was just lingering and she gave it to Rick Ross and he passed on it for his first album. And then he just picked it up for his second album. And I think it’s hot.”

The song is set to be included on Ross’ upcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t, releasing December 13th.
