The Jet Life crew continues to crank out exciting new projects -- and give 'em out for free, no less. Last night, Spitta dropped off his sixth tape of the year, The Legend of Harvard Blue, and the NOLA-via-Houston Jet Lifer known as Le$ has now put out another sonic movie titled E36: Techno Violet. Like Curren$y, Le$ has an appreciation of rare automobiles, and he makes music to soundtrack his drives through the city. As his new project is partly named for the high-octane BMW E36 model -- a beautiful design to come from the late '90s -- Techno Violet rides faster and is more suspenseful than Le$' past efforts, including Dreamcast or his Steak x Shrimp series.

The new tape is also inspired by "Drive," the 2011 noir thriller starring Ryan Gosling, and the production on Techno Violet mirrors the film's original score with a synth-heavy, late-night ambiance that runs through the whole project. Although there's technically only five tracks, Techno Violet has the runtime of a feature film, as four of the five chapters -- each delivered in a different "gear" -- last over 10 minutes.

As Curren$y's The Legend of Harvard Blue was inspired by a '70s blaxploitation film, play Le$' E36: Techno Violet afterwards for a totally different cinematic experience. The tape is hosted by DJ Mr. Rogers.
