Chris Brown's team claims that the singer has not been denied entrance to Australia, contrary to reports that he was denied an Australian visa due to his 2009 domestic violence case involving Rihanna.
The singer shared his statement in a now-deleted Instagram post. It was also published by ticket vendor Ticketek, who is selling tickets for Brown's four Australian tour dates in December. Here is the statement in full:
"Contrary to media reports, Chris Brown's request to enter Australia on tour has not been denied. This request is currently being considered by the office of the Immigration Minister. We respect their right to review this request and have faith that a decision will be made with the full consideration of his continued personal growth, on-going philanthropic endeavors and desire to perform for his fans. Since 2009, Chris Brown has visited Australia on two separate occasions and is looking forward to returning in December."
Australian minister for women Michaelia Cash said that Breezy's application was denied because he "[is] not of the character that we expect in Australia." She was reportedly involved in a recent decision to ban Floyd Mayweather from the country due to his history of domestic violence.
