A rumor was also going around that the company may change ownership, with reports that Samsung was looking into purchasing the company last month. After much speculation, a Samsung rep has come forward denying the report.

While it didn't have the strongest start, Tidal has had three major exclusive releases over the last few months with Rihanna's ANTI, Beyonce's "Formation, and Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo, bringing in many new subscribers for the company (1 million from Rih's album alone).
Meanwhile, Samsung's Pandora-esque service, Milk Music, is being forced to close. We'll have to see if they continue to pursue the streaming market in the future.
