M·A·C Cosmetics are pushing things forward in 2016 by teaming up with four up-and-coming artists from diverse backgrounds. Calling the partnership the “Future Forward” campaign, the cosmetics brand hopes to attract people “who have something unique about their style.” The four artist the brand teamed up with are Dej Loaf, Tinashe, Lion Babe and Halsey. Each artists is coming up in their own way, making the partnership appealing for both parties.
Each artist was allowed to select what kind of product they would be creating, as well as have a say in the colors and packaging. Deja Loaf reveals she was very anti-makeup until recently, but now she doesn’t “want to perform without it anymore.” The anti-makeup stance is a common one (Kendrick’s “No Makeup (Her Vice)” comes to mind), but the Detroit emcee says now she understands “how it enhances beauty – how it makes me feel myself, a little more than I already was.”
Tinashe chose to create a “Times Nine Palette” of eye shadow, with each shade named after one of her tracks.
The whole product line launches on March 17 on maccosmetics.com, and will range from $15 - $32. Fellas, it might be after Valentine’s Day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat your lady.
