Harrowing news has been circulating online as news of an alleged shooting at DaBaby's home has taken over timelines. The rapper's name is no stranger to controversy and while a press release doesn't name the rapper, the Troutman Police Department in North Carolina detailed the event. The incident reportedly occurred this evening (April 13) at 7:45 p.m. with police adding that they responded to a residence after receiving a call about a shooting.
"Officers arrived on the scene where they found one subject suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound," the press release stated. "The subject was transported by Iredell County EMS to a medical facility for treatment."
"Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, no information as to the names of those involved or the circumstances can be released at this time," it continued. "This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community at large." The Troutman Police may not be dishing out names, but a screenshot of the Iredell Firewire360's Facebook page showed that they did.
"A call came into Iredell County 911 reporting that a subject had been shot on the property of rapper Jonathan 'DaBaby' Kirk," they stated, adding that the shooting took place "near the football field on the property." The person who was injured was said to have "trespassed onto the property."
Additionally, the Facebook post revealed that the call to 911 was "very tense" as the person on the phone was instructed "to secure his weapon" before authorities arrived, but the caller refused, stating that he was concerned that "there could be more intruders." The property was described as being a "compound" enclosed by "fences and walls."
Although it was revealed that this incident allegedly occurred on DaBaby's property, the identity of the shooter or the victim has not been confirmed.
