According to Future The Prince, Apple had nothing to do with the decision to exclude Drake's performance from the Tidal stream.

While Tidal spun their lack of access to the Drake portion of Lil Weezyana fest as interference from Apple, Drizzy's team tells a different story. Future The Prince, who has served as both Drake's DJ and management at different points in his career, has revealed that the reason the stream cut out was a business decision from OVO's side, and had nothing to do with apple.

“The decision to not have Drake participate in the Tidal steam has nothing to do with Apple or Drake’s deal,” said Future, speaking to Buzzfeed. “Point blank, 100%. I made a business decision. Apple doesn’t have the power to stop us from being part of a live stream. The only people that have the power to do that are Cash Money and Universal, and they’re our partners.”

According to the DJ, Tidal's decision to mention Apple was entirely for attention. “I don’t understand,” he said. “If you’re going to say something about the situation publicly, you should tell the truth. They saw the opportunity to take a situation and spin it in their favor as a publicity stunt.”

A strange situation has become even stranger. What's your take on Tidal's move?
