Doja Cat Leads The Way As BET Awards Announce Nominee List

Doja Cat has received the most nominations for the 2022 BET Awards with Ari Lennox and Drake tied for second place.

BET has announced the full list of nominees for the 2022 BET Awards, including Ari Lennox, Drake, Baby Keem, Silk Sonic, and many more. The event will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson.

Doja Cat is nominated for the most awards with six nominations. Her potential trophies include "Best Female R&B/Pop Artist," "Best Female Hip Hop Artist," "Album of the Year," "BET Her," "Video of the Year," and "Best Collaboration."

Most of Doja's nominations stem from her latest album, Planet Her, which features the singles "Kiss Me More", "You Right", "Need to Know", "Woman", and "Get Into It (Yuh)." The project reached as high as number two on the US Billboard 200.

As for the coveted "Album of the Year" award, Silk Sonic, H.E.R., Tyler, The Creator, Drake, Kanye West, Jazmine Sullivan, and Doja Cat will be competing to receive the honor.

"Best Male Hip-Hop Artist" could go to Drake, Future, J. Cole, Jack Harlow, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, or Lil Baby, while "Best Female Hip-Hop Artist" nominees include Cardi B, Doja Cat, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Saweetie.

The BET Awards ceremony is scheduled to air live on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
