Chance the Rapper is quickly emerging as one of Chicago's most effective philanthropists.

Chance the Rapper's "Warmest Winter" initiative has reached its goal of raising enough money to fund 1,000 EMPWR coats for the homeless community in Chicago. The campaign began in mid-December, and five days ahead of its deadline, it has already reached its fundraising target of $100,000.

As reported earlier -- upon raising $60,000 in 10 days -- the coats funded by "Warmest Winter" are self-heating and can be transformed into sleeping bags as well as duffle bags. Members of the homeless community are also hired to help manufacture the coats, so Chance's fundraiser is a job-creating initiative as well.

"Warmest Winter" is still accepting donations until January 13. Head here to donate to the noble cause.
