Though it was mostly smooth sailing and fast money for Fetty Wap in 2015, he did, as most rap superstars do, manage to get tied up in some drama. In December, former "Love & Hip Hop Hollywood" star Masika Kalysha revealed she was pregnant and that the baby daddy was the "Trap Queen" rapper himself, with whom she had collaborated on her September single "Andale." Well, in a new interview with The Shade Room, Fetty has finally given a detailed account of his side of the story.
He feels he was, more or less, set up by Kalysha, and though he admits to having unprotected sex with the singer/actress, he's somehow sure he's not responsible for her unborn child.
"I don't really know how to explain that shit," responded Fetty upon being asked about his baby mama drama with Kalysha. He went on to recount how he met Kalysha, which ended up in a one-night stand.
"It's really like this: I was at a party, right. I don't even remember what party I was at. I was at a party when I first met her, and my manager's the one that made me go talk to her [laughs]."
"I'ma just say she knew what she was doing...I wasn't just no random dude in the club, you know what I'm sayin'? She knew I was gon' be there, and -- [suggestive body language + hand-clap] -- that's how that happened."
He was then asked if their sexual encounter was indeed unprotected, to which Fetty responded in the affirmative.
"Yeah, like, I ain't gon' lie, you feel me. I don't got no reason to lie...We talked about certain shit that was supposed to happen. I guess she went around that shit, know what I'm sayin'? That's how I knew it was all planned out."
Still, though he's obviously an eligible candidate to be Kalysha's baby daddy, he doesn't seem to think he has anything to worry about, even suggesting that the real father could be one of a few professional athletes with whom Kalysha has been spotted.
"Congratulations to her and whoever is the..."
"--the father?", interrupts the interviewer.
"Yeah," replies Fetty with a smile. Though it's likely future drama awaits, he's handling the situation pretty well right now. Watch the full interview below.
