Azealia Banks has been all over the headlines, though not just for her new music. Many felt she took it too far in her beef with Iggy Azalea when as she mocked the Australian rapper for admitting to recent struggles with suicidal thoughts. Earlier this week, Banks dropped her new mixtape, Slay-Z, and the tape has been garnering much attention for the NSFW cover, on which Banks appears topless, which might've led to the suspension of her Twitter account. She has since had to revert to the censored version, and if there's anything at all that can be gained from the no-nipple policy that seems to rule over social media, it's that we can focus on the music on Slay-Z -- because the tape includes more than a few stone-cold bangers.
Aside from Nina Sky, Rick Ross is the only feature on Slay-Z, and "Big Talk" is definitely one of the tape's hardest tracks. Over an off-kilter bass monster of a beat, Rick Ross delivers his sharpest boss rhymes, only to be upended by those of Banks. She may have some pesky Twitter fingers, but there's no denying she's bad as hell on the mic.
Download Slay-Z here, and make sure to check out the Kaytranada-produced "Along the Coast."
Quotable Lyrics
This ice on me like a skating rink
Big talk, big bank
Pussy wetter than the Great Lakes
And for this life, I'ma give thanks
And pray they never gon' burn a witch at the stake
