Nike innovates within its running line to create an attractive new design.

This newest silhouette from the Nike running line evokes the idea of evolution by combining old and new. Nike has fused the Nike Roshe One and Nike Air Presto together to form the Nike Darwin. The Darwin moniker was actually used on an little known (and short-lived) sneaker that was worn by Dennis Rodman in the 1990s, but this one drops the ‘Air’ from its name as it uses Lunar technology in the sole.

The new Nike Darwin shoe takes some of the best design elements from each sneaker, incorporating the mesh toe box (with added double layer) from the Nike Roshe One and the TPU heel support from the Nike Air Presto. Nike also introduces its Flywire technology into the lacing, making the shoe a true evolution and not just a simple fusion.

It’s good to see Nike continuing to innovate what look like some extremely comfy sneakers, even though their naming conventions are getting a bit cheeky. The Nike Darwin is now available in triple black and triple white colorways, perhaps trying to compete with the wildly popular Adidas Ultraboost.
