In his 20+ years of his career, Ice Cube has had so many incredible moments and classic records that will forever be immortalized among fans. Taking it to another level, he linked up with Rare Ink for a charity art series featuring some of his classic memories. Artwork that reflects a couple album covers, some songs and him as a person are available through Rare Ink.
The nine pieces in the first series were done by MiQ Willmott (TWEEQIM), Kerry Laster (Phantom Kay), Mark Sgarbossa, Grzegorz Demoradzki (Gabz), and Leon Bedore (Tes One).
Expanding the interaction with fans of my music by offering limited edition, signed artwork that they are able to share and enjoy with their friends and family is something I feel my fans deserve, Cube said of participating in this series. With RareInk, music fans now have an online destination for unique, autographed art that they know is real.
He continues, In the music business we take a hit song, sample part of it, and try to make another hit record with it. In the same way, RareInk has taken my albums and turned them into amazing works of stand-alone art. The series is something I'm really proud of and I'm sure other recording artists are going to want to get involved, both for their fans and their charities.
10% of all proceeds will go to the Minority AIDs project, an organization Cube has been working with for two decades. The works are in very limited quality ranging from 75 to 250 in quantity and $300 to $700 in pricing. They're also all hand signed by him with two of the paintings having his own hand print (his hand dipped in paint and put on it).
To purchase one or more, you can head over to Rare Ink's site. Also, check out some making of videos with Cube signing and talking about each work through their Youtube channel.
