The hip-hop community reacts to Supreme Court decision to legalize gay marriage.

In a landmark decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Friday morning in favor of legalizing gay marriage nationwide. The hip-hop community has had a complicated history in regard to gay issues, but today it took to social media to express near-universal support for the decision, echoing the widespread support it lent Frank Ocean when he came out in 2012 (besides Chris Brown).

Artists responses were all very much in character; Tyler, the Creator wrote "FUCK YEAH AMERICA" and John Legend wrote, "Very happy about the SCOTUS rulings this week! Marriage Equality, Fair Housing and Affordable Health Care!"
