You gotta love A$AP Rocky and ScHoolboy Q. Despite having contrasting styles, they also share a few similarities. While ScHoolboy possesses a rugged in-your-face demeanor, Rocky is more fluid and flashy in terms of delivery. ScHoolboy loves bathing in women, weed, and alcohol, while Rocky is a fashion savant who loves Bathing Apes. One calls Cali his humble abode, while the other resides in the city of big dreams. So that’s why when these two alpha dogs join forces, it’s a beautiful sight to see.
Rocky and Q’s past collaborations are beyond epic. They feed off each other’s energy levels. That’s why we appreciate these two emcees. They started from the bottom and have charged their way up the food chain.
Today, we bring you a fresh new edition of Who Had The Better Verse between A$AP Mob’s A$AP Rocky and TDE’s ScHoolboy Q. Let’s get it!
A$AP Rocky Featuring ScHoolboy Q – “Brand New Guy”
Before these guys tatted their names on the forefront of mainstream, they were voracious emcees hoping to crack open the proverbial window of success. These two played ping pong with the flow on “Brand New Guy,” and handsomely traded verses back and forth starting with Rocky. “N*ggas threat with the chit chatting, see a n*gga don’t shit happen / I’m finna blow on that Bin Laden, so talk money pig latin,” raps Rocky. While Rocky showed out on his verse, Q’s rugged flow was something to marvel at. “Killer careers make these cupcakes remember / My objective is to serve your agenda / Biggie and Nas put they ass in a blender / Spring some 50 and came out this n*gga,” Q raps poignantly. Point to Q.

ScHoolboy Q Featuring A$AP Rocky – “Hands on the Wheel”
Let’s revisit ScHoolboy’s banger “Hands on the Wheel,” from his 2012 release Habits and Contradictions. Both Rocky and Schoolboy delivered tongue-twisting verses over this intoxicating sample. If there’s one thing we know about A$AP, it’s that his flow is always on point with the instrumental. “N*gga, weed and brews, unbelievable / Got a freak or two, in my vehicle / Got the purple drink, got the yellow drink / Then we mix it up, call it Pikachu,” he raps. You know Ash Ketchum would have loved that bar. ScHoolboy showed off some counter punches with his verse, as well. “Too damn high, can’t stand myself / I love drunk driving, man I’m something else / Heat on my side, you’re more than welcome to melt / I’m about to finish a pound, you’re more welcome to help,” he concludes. Even though Q killed his verse, Rocky’s verse had a bit more zeal to it. Point goes to A$AP.

A$AP Rocky Featuring ScHoolboy Q - "PMW"
A$AP Rocky and ScHoolboy Q were perfect on this track. For one, it’s obvious that their chemistry is unmatched. But, in addition to that, this subject matter is something that both men are very familiar with. After their success on A$AP’s “Brand New Guy,” they decided to double up their luck and go for another round on “PMW" from Rocky's debut album Long.Live.A$AP. Let’s just say, these guys connected on all angles. “Harlem world, my whole block strapped / Hoes all on my jock strap / My whip white but my top black / And my bitch white but my cock black,” raps A$AP. Once again, Q burst back on the scene with his ceiling missing and delivered another scorching verse. “And don’t get head from hoes with overbites / Just giving out game, n*gga show your right / Born stunna n*gga, turn night to bright / High as a kite in my Nike Flights / Made 30 Racks it was just a flight / Flew a bitch out too, it was just a night,” he countered. Q’s frenetic flow and verse earned him extra brownie points in our books. Point awarded to Q.

ScHoolboy Q Featuring A$AP Rocky – "Californication"
You gotta love it when the East Coast and West Coast hook up. Despite Rocky having Harlem blood running through his veins, he shows love to the Westside and collaborate with Q on “Californication.” To this day, it behooves me that this track was merely a bonus record on Q’s Oxymoron album. A$AP carves his name nicely over the Nez and Rio beat: “Just know that ASAP be that TDE / We got the game in headlocks; I’m talking DDT / She on my TV screen; I’m talking DVD / British bitches love my cock; I’m taking BBC,” he raps. With ScHoolboy Q packing on two verses, he came with some quality to match Rocky’s intensity. “Eenie-minie-minie- ho, I warp my dick with mistletoe / Come pull it out and kiss it ho / there he go / G shit through ya stereo, all my shit historical / Your shit need a miracle, toss that out my vehicle,” says Q. Even though Rocky’s flow was kind of rudimentary, that DDT line took me back to my Wrestlemania days.

A$AP Rocky Featuring ScHoolboy Q – “Electric Body”
Fans cried tears of joy when they saw that A$AP nabbed Q for another feature on his new album At Long Live A$AP. With Q and Rocky both climbing their way up to the pantheon of rap, “Electric Body” served as their victory lap. “Now we finna go off in the buildin’ / I could really give a fuck about your feeling / This’d be a schoolboy and a rudeboy / Not a jerk like the New Boyz, grooving like ScHoolboy Q, n*gga,” exclaimed Rocky. ScHoolboy was there to punctuate the song with his usual amount of energy-- “Two-seated got me lookin’ all clumped, hit a n*gga wig on sight / Serve a n*gga mom off white, I’ma get it so high, I’m Christ / N*gga ball so hard like Mike, I could whip that bitch like Ike / I can fuck your bitch off hype, pink ring, got bling all bright,” said Q for the buzzer beater.
