Hit musical comedy 'Glee' may be one of the most successful shows on television, but they're not big enough for Eminem. The Fox series, which has built itself into a $500 million dollar brand, has featured performances of popular songs like Rihanna's 'Take a Bow,' Cee-Lo's ubiquitious 'F--- You' and several Billy Joel standards, but Slim Shady's music was reportedly too expensive for the show.

In a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy explained that they had planned to perform Em's '8 Mile' anthem 'Lose Yourself' on the show, but were unable to afford the license, which would have cost them a whopping $200,000.

"We couldn't do it because the episode would've been so over budget," Murphy revealed. In the meantime, fans can look forward to an upcoming re-enactment of Michael Jackson's epic 'Thriller' when 'Glee' makes its highly anticipated return on Feb. 6.

Eminem released his seventh studio album 'Recovery' in June of 2010. The album sold 741,000 copies in its first week and is up for ten Grammys this year, including Best Rap Album and Album of the Year. Despite the album's success Eminem has taken a backseat to touring, only performing half a dozen concerts last year.
