Last night (April 24), marked the official celebration of the 10th anniversary of BAPE's flagship store in NYC. The hip-hop and fashion worlds collided in SoHo to pay homage to the influential Japanese streetwear brand. The night featured two special from performances from rappers who have been known drape themselves in BAPE, Travi$ Scott and Pusha T.
Pusha also sat down with VIBE for an interview on how BAPE influenced his own clothing brand, Play Cloths. Pusha recalls unexpectedly receiving a box full of (very expensive) BAPE apparel from BAPE's owner, Nigo, after he heard Clipse's breakout hit, "Grindin." He goes on to say he wouldn't have his own streetwear brand was it not for A Bathing Ape.
Watch Travis' "Upper Echelon" and "Mamacita," and Pusha's "Move That Dope" and "Grindin" below.
