Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka go one-on-one for this week's "Who Had The Better Verse " series. Bricksquad is in the building this week.

It’s always a beautiful thing when Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka get on a record together. Let’s be clear, these two men aren’t the most lyrical cats in the game, but they bring that bravado and street lingo that we all love and appreciate. Obviously, you’re not going to be enraptured by their lyrical wisdom and they won’t have an triple entendres for you to decode like the great Marshall Mathers, but their track record is immaculate. Who can forget about how their Ferrari Boyz project had us wanting to be in the trap? With a sheer combination of trillness and heart, these two make a formidable duo. Although they went through a rough patch, they've seen been able to set their differences aside. This piece couldn't be timelier, as we anticipate Gucci's possible release next month. While we wait on that, let’s explore some of Gucci and Waka's best tracks together.

Gucci Mane & Waka Flocka Flame – “Ferrari Boyz” (2011)

Who Had The Better Verse: Gucci Mane Vs. Waka Flocka

In 2011, Guwop and his prodigy Waka Flocka released their joint project Ferrari Boyz. The title track was produced by Drumma Boy and found the two rappers doing what they do best: keeping it gangsta. “I’m in the yellow thang on the expressway/That bitch so nasty it might give a bitch road rage/Get out my lane, Ferrari Boyz/you see the chain, so Icey Boyz,” said the Bricksquad general.  Waka followed his mentor’s footsteps with a pretentiously driven verse. “Screaming out, “Who wants some Anna”/Made a million off my words, they in love with my country grammar,” he said. Both men squashed the beat with zero regard to human life, but in this case, the mentor, Gucci Mane takes the cake.

The Ferrari Boyz had a banger on their hands when they released their joint project. One of the strongest cuts on the record was “Stoned.” The Bricksquad boys had a blast on this Shawty Redd beat, with Waka dethroning his boss on this one. “Rock yellow stones, rock red stones/Bitch my money long, poppin pills and blowin’ strong/I’m a ‘Stone Cold’ flexer, Steve Austin  (stunner)/Every concert man I’m gone,” he said. Once again, Gucci was relentless in his approach. “I gave that bitch a hundred dollars just to leave me alone/Tell the waitress bring mo’ bottles up cause she can keep the chaser/Lil’ momma switching by my section, she want me to chase her,” he rapped. Despite Gucci being Gucci, Waka’s prevailed on this one.

Gucci Mane – “Coca Coca” Featuring Nicki Minaj, OJ Da Juiceman, Rocko, Shawty Lo, Waka Flocka, Yo Gotti (2012)

Who Had The Better Verse: Gucci Mane Vs. Waka Flocka

Gucci recruited an all-star line-up for his track “Coca Coca.” He tapped Nicki Minaj, OJ Da Juiceman, Rocko, Shawty Lo, Yo Gotti, and of course, Waka Flocka. The Burrrprint 2 track had everyone going off on the Drumma Boy-produced record. “More ganja then reefer framers, you couldn’t see me with binoculars/White girl with me; Cindy Lauper, multi deep like Frank Sinatra/Gave 10 birds to Waka Flocka, told him drop em at Moreland Plaza/Whoozy like the morning after, try me then yo skull get fractured,” Gucci spit. He continued dropping his street knowledge on the record with lines like, "Hustle hard got from my father, take no shit got from my mother/Never snitched and never will, I put that on my baby brother." Waka tried upping ante with his verse: "Waka Flocka, Flocka Waka, midgrade brought me everything/I’m gudda gudda, gudda gudda, I put that shit on Gucci Mane." We love Waka, but, once again, gotta go Guwop here.

Waka Flocka Flame Featuring Gucci Mane – “50K” (2012)

Who Had The Better Verse: Gucci Mane Vs. Waka Flocka

Lets venture back to Waka’s hard-hitting mixtape, Salute Me or Shoot Me 4. The intro track, “50K,” was produced by Southside and TM88, and featured both Waka and Gucci talking that gangsta talk. Waka started the track off strong by imposing his will on his adversaries. “I’m drinking champagne one deep in my Phantom Ghost/Bad bitch with me wonder where my manners go/My youngins sick, sick, where the antidote,” he poignantly rapped. Waka continued his onslaught with a second verse on the record. “I bet your bitch want a n*gga/I bet she wanna fuck a n*gga/Never be a broke n*gga /She like, 'Fuck gold!' shawty she a Platinum n*gga,” he said. The beast that this Gucci Mane, took over the reins and instilled his level of trill onto the record. “Gucci Mane, I’m the fucking man, pocket full of Xan/Put them grands on a n*gga/Grands, change a n*gga plans,” he rapped. Despite Gucci’s hot verse, we gotta award the point to Waka.

Waka Flocka Flocka Featuring Gucci Mane & Young Thug – “Fell” (2013)

Who Had The Better Verse: Gucci Mane Vs. Waka Flocka

When Waka, Gucci, and Thugger join forces on a record, it’s a guaranteed banger. When they all linked up for Waka Flocka’s “Fell,” they all delivered big time. Thugger bodied his hook and allowed Waka and Gucci to pounce on the Lex Luger beat. “Assault rifle 223, we chop you down/No diss songs and retweets, just bodies found,” rapped Waka. While Waka flexed a la Ken Shamrock on the beat, his mentor, Gucci,  laid the smackdown on the beat. “Man, I fell out with my girl, man, I fell out with that bitch/Get the hell out of this house, ho, gon’ and pack you shit,” he rapped. He continued obliterating the beat with lines like, “Ain’t lose sleep about it, tricked out my jeep about it/If I get ten n*ggas bleached tonight, better not hear a peep about it,” said Uncle Gucci. Gucci all day on this one.

Waka Flocka Flame Featuring Bobby V & Gucci Mane –“Against All Odds” (2015)

Who Had The Better Verse: Gucci Mane Vs. Waka Flocka

It’s dope when rappers let bygones be bygones. Instead of watching their friendship spiral into a land of oblivion, Waka and Gucci mustered up the courage to squash their beef and start anew. They used “Against All Odds” as their redemption track. Instead of gushing about their newest whips or smashing the baddest chicks, both men used the track to show the other respect. “So I call my n*ggas from the dealer CP/I do 25 if he fucking with Gucci/The loyalty’s forever never think different, G/Bricksquad Monopoly we do it B.I.G.,” said Waka. Gucci returned the favor with an equally strong verse of his own. “Ain’t too many n*ggas I trust/They don’t make n*ggas like us/I’ma OG, I don’t know me, but three young n*ggas in my trust,” said Guwop. Point goes to Waka, here.
