Lil Wayne is back on the cover of Rolling Stone, for his second feature within the span of a year. In the new issue, the Young Money rapper opens up about his recent, eight month stint in New York's Rikers Island jail.
Wayne admitted that he was forced to spend his last month in solitary confinement after being busted with an iPod charger, but also sent thanks to a fellow inmate who took the heat for a second violation that would have cost him more trouble. "Shout-out to Charles [Manson]... Solitary was the worst," Wayne told Rolling Stone writer Josh Eells. "No radio. No commissary. Basically you're in there 23 hours a day."
The eccentric rapper shared his strategies for passing the time behind bars, one of which included a reading list of musical biographies from Jim Morrison, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Anthony Kiedis, as well as some heavier reading. "[Kiedis'] Scar Tissue was really good," Wayne explained. "I also read the Bible for the first time. It was deep! I liked the parts where some character was once this, but he ended up being that. Like he'd be dissing Jesus, and then he ends up being a saint. That was cool."
Since his release from jail, the sports fanatic has been spotted courtside at several Miami Heat basketball games, but Weezy revealed that he hasn't gotten any preferential treatment from Lebron James or Dwyane Wade. "Them n----s never speak to a n----," an annoyed Wayne said. "They don't chuck me the deuce or nothing. N---- spent all that money on them f---ing tickets ... Come holla at me. We sit right by them little b---- a-- n----s. At least come ask me why I'm not rooting for you."
