A Tribe Called Quest is celebrating the 25th anniversary of People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm by releasing a special edition on November 13th. After sharing Pharrell's rework of "Bonita Applebum" a couple weeks ago, Q-Tip and co. share an updated version of "Footprints" with a Cee-Lo Green towards the end.
This version of "Footprints" sounds fuller than the original (shoutout to Bob Power on the mastering) and is getting us excited for the rest of the album reissue. The members of ATCQ are certainly excited. “This album means a lot,” said Ali Shaheed Muhammad. “It was the beginning of our careers; the beginning of our imprint; the beginning of seeing life the way we saw it, and being able to put it down in words and music.”
Quotable Lyrics
Well can I get a level on the bass and on the treble
Footin up and down like a UNLV Rebel
The answer be amongst us cos we rarely dig acoustics
Can't be too much flackin, not too much packin
