Kanye West recently debuted his latest single "All Day" at the 2015 Brit Awards in London. Most of the audience, including Taylor Swift, appeared to be blown away by the performance, which featured flamethrowers and a posse of about 100 people dressed in all black. Part of that group was Vic Mensa, who recently featured on "Wolves," Kanye's latest single before "All Day."
One Brit who did not enjoy the performance was Liam Gallagher, the lead singer of the British rock band Oasis. After the performance, Gallagher tweeted that Kanye West is "Utter Shit." He then tweeted that Kanye is "a million miles away from College Dropout"; that album, he says, is "artistry", mocking West's post-Grammy comments on Beck and Beyonce.
This isn't the first time Oasis has garnered notoriety in the hip-hop world. In 2008, when Jay Z was selected to headline the famous British music festival Glastonbury, Noel Gallagher, Liam's brother and bandmate, said he refused to see hip-hop at Glastonbury--"it's wrong." Jay responded by coming out on stage to "Wonderwall," Oasis's biggest hit.
Vic Mensa was quick to respond to Gallagher's recent tweets. The 21-year-old Chicago MC/singer said, "fuck @liamgallagher and his irrelevant old man opinions." He then offered a warning to more (white) people who will likely be put off by West's new music: "white washed world you should all be scared".
