Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" turned Mustard's formula into a number one hit last summer, but (un)fortunately the single didn't work in its second Xerox-ed form, "Pretty Girls" -- a Britney Spears single which once again brought Iggy, The Invisible Men production team, and a faux-Charli XCX hook together.
After the spectacular flop, Britney has apparently decided to go straight to the source for a hit, as DJ Mustard revealed to ThisIsMax. “I haven’t told nobody yet, but I’ve been in the studio with Britney Spears. It’s harder than hard — it’s a movie,” he bragged.
We know Mustard once dreamed of making his own Futuresex/Lovesounds with Justin Bieber, and as fire as that Instagram snippet of Biebs going in over the "IDFWU" beat was, he may have found his muse in Britney.
No word on when we'll hear the material, but we're positive it'll be a step up from "Pretty Girls".
