Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment's "SURF" is a hit.

It was assumed that Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment's experimental opus, SURF, would be a free release, but when the LP appeared on iTunes as a complimentary download, it definitely came as a surprise to fans.

While the albums "purchases" unfortunately weren't counted towards the charts, Chance The Rapper did get a hold of the official numbers from iTunes, and they're pretty high. Announcing the stats on Twitter today, Chance revealed that the album had been downloaded 618,000 times this week, with 10,198,708 singles moved.

Seeing that the album quickly made its way on to major mixtape sites (HNHH included), the number is actually quite a bit higher, but either way, people were clearly liking what they heard.
