Heralded as one of the best hip-hop releases of 2009, Raekwon's 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2' is getting a golden facelift. The Chef is preparing a rerelease of the sequel to his seminal debut, grabbing guest verses from Game, Bun B, GZA and Inspectah Deck for six new tracks to be included on an iTunes-only package that also features bonus music videos for 'Catalina,' 'Canal Street,' 'Surgical Gloves,' 'New Wu,' 'House of Flying Daggers' and 'Have Mercy.'
The album, which features a gold cover instead of its original purple one, also features a remix to the track 'Penitentiary' from Travis Barker, as well as remixes to 'Broken Safety' and 'New Wu.'
"I wanted to create something special for the fans that have been rocking with me from the start," said the Wu-Tang swordsman. "No matter where I am around the world, people tell me how much these projects meant to them. The Gold Deluxe Edition is my gift to them."
'OB4CL2,' released in September 2009, served as a sequel to its 1995 predecessor, commonly accepted to be one of the best albums from a Wu-Tang Clan member to be released. Featuring Ghostface Killah as guest host, the album is considered a rap classic, and was included as one of the 100 Best Rap Albums by 'The Source' magazine and listed as part of 'Rolling Stone' magazine's Essential Recordings of the 1990s.
