One of the most interesting moments on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly comes in the lengthy closer, "Mortal Man," when he simulates a conversation with Tupac by sampling a rare interview with the West Coast legend. As the album opener, "Wesley's Theory," includes a sound bite from Dr. Dre, the album is bookended by quotes from two of Cali's greatest.
Thanks to Complex, we now have the full source of the Tupac sample, which is an interview with him that took place two weeks before he was shot at Quad Studios in New York in 1994. Check out the six-part audio recording below.
