The New York artist was on the precipice of something great as his sound was finally starting to resonate with mainstream fans of the genre. Of course, Pop Smoke's Brooklyn drill sound was already immensely popular with New York listeners, although at the time of his passing, Pop was starting to cultivate a large fanbase that was ready to turn him into a global superstar. Pop was eventually cast for the movie and got to work alongside the likes of Eddie Huang, before he passed. The clip of him acting depicts a young artist who is incredibly talented at whatever he puts his mind to. Fans immediately felt nostalgic watching the rapper on screen, and it was a sad reminder of the talent that was lost.
