The 2020 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival held annually in San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Park has officially been canceled. Unsurprisingly, organizers announced Wednesday that the beloved music festival will not be happening this year due to COVID-19, but they didn’t leave fans with all bad news. The organizers announced the lineup for the 2021 festival to give fans something to look forward to for next year.
In a press release announcing the news explain, “Outside Lands organizers say the decision to postpone this year’s festival was one made after close talks with local and state health authorities and city officials.” The 2020 festival was slated to take place from August 7th to August 9th
A statement from the Head of Concerts & Festivals at Another Planet Entertainment and Co-Producer of the festival Allen Scott reads, “We are thrilled for the festival to be coming back in 2021. There’s been a lot of bad news out there with regard to COVID-19 and we want to give people something to look forward to. We’re hopeful that in sharing our excitement about the future of the festival and next year’s lineup, that it provides some much-needed positivity for our fans and community.”
The 2021 lineup includes headliners Lizzo, Tyler, the Creator, and Young Thug, among others. Other noteworthy performers who are hitting the stage at next years festival include Burna Boy, Kehlani, EARTHGANG, Rico Nasty, and 070 Shake.
