Dave East is honouring the memory of his fallen friends Nipsey Hussle and Kiing Shooter with a new tattoo depicting the two late artists. On Wednesday (May 27th), days after he was released from police custody, Dave East took to Instagram to show off the progress of his new ink. In the photo, depictions of both Nipsey and Kiing can be seen tatted onto Dave's back.
"Part 1," Dave wrote in the caption of the post, crediting the tattoo artist, @ricassoreek, for his hard work. "Love Y’all." As you well know, Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed back in March of 2019 in the parking lot of his store, Marathon Clothing, in L.A. Dave and Nipsey have collaborated on a few of songs together in the past, including "Blueprint" and "Clarity," both with Bino Rideaux.
We lost Kiing Shooter, a close friend of Dave's who was signed to Nas and Jungle's label, much more recently, after he reportedly died from coronavirus complications earlier this month. A few days ago, Dave East released a song in Shooter's memory called "My Loc." On the track, Dave spits, "We was used to taking losses/Ran it up, I started ballin' witcha/The whole hood cried when you died/That's what you call official." RIP to these two talented souls.
